In 1955, Sears W. Merrick and Ed Lecuyer formed an engineering company with a focus on providing high quality, responsive service.  They recruited committed employees by offering opportunities for growth and success by stressing company ownership.  Later incorporated as Merrick & Company in 1959, our employee-owned company has become a professional services leader in the Rocky Mountain region and remains a direct reflection of the founders' vision and entrepreneurial spirit.

We began primarily as a civil engineering and surveying company, offering surveying and design services for electrical transmission and distribution projects throughout the Rocky Mountain region.  In response to client demands for a broader range of services from a single source, we steadily expanded our scope of operations to embrace all of the traditional engineering disciplines, as well as architecture.  By the late 1980s, our architectural and engineering capabilities were reflected in projects throughout the United States.  We also expanded our existing range of technical services in the late 1980s to include geographical information services (GIS), process engineering, and material-handling equipment design and fabrication.

Since 1991, we have been consistently ranked by Engineering News Record Magazine (ENR) as one of the Top 200 Design Firms in the United States.

Today, we perform projects throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America.  Our success is based on "Building Quality Solutions" for our clients by utilizing the latest technology to meet the unique requirements of each project.
