Merrick partnered with the City to modernize aging treatment facilities through targeted upgrades, capacity expansion, and site improvements, helping ensure the community’s essential water and wastewater services remain resilient, efficient, and adaptable for years to come.

Merrick’s work focused on comprehensive improvements to the wastewater treatment system, including upgrades to treatment processes, expansions to support increased capacity, and improvements to solids handling and site infrastructure. These upgrades replaced aging components, improved biological treatment performance, and positioned the facility to meet evolving nutrient regulations while maintaining continuous operations throughout design and implementation planning.

To enhance coordination and support long‑term asset management, Merrick paired our engineering effort with advanced 3D scanning of all major wastewater facilities. High‑resolution digital models created a shared, accurate representation of existing conditions, improving design accuracy and reducing risk during construction. The resulting digital foundation provides the City with tools to support ongoing maintenance, system planning, and informed decision‑making as infrastructure needs continue to evolve.
