Community Stewardship
Rooted in Ownership
At Merrick, giving back is a natural extension of employee ownership. When people have a stake in the work they do, they also feel a responsibility to the communities and environments around them. That sense of ownership shapes how we show up — not only for our clients, but for the places where we live and work.
Our approach to stewardship focuses on meaningful participation rather than check-the-box programs. Employee owners lead and support efforts tied to environmental action, community support, and STEM engagement, contributing time, expertise, and resources in ways that reflect local needs and personal passions.

Our stewardship is expressed
through employee-led efforts in
three key areas.
Environmental Action
Employee owners take part in environmental stewardship through hands-on efforts that support sustainability and conservation in their local communities. From Earth Day initiatives and river cleanups to Bike to Work Day and other environmental programs, these efforts reflect a responsibility to care for the places that support our work and our lives.

Community Support
Community support efforts are driven by employee owners and shaped by local needs. These include charity walks and runs, food bank drives, holiday giving, and other initiatives that support both local and global communities — strengthening relationships and reinforcing the importance of showing up for people beyond the work itself.

STEM Edge
Through STEM engagement, Merrick employee owners help inspire the next generation of problem solvers. Activities include events like Bring Your Kid to Work Day, collegiate recruiting, and outreach programs that support students from kindergarten through college. These efforts reflect a long-term investment in education, curiosity, and opportunity.
