The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force
Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force focuses on creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace at Merrick. The task force aims to attract, recruit, and retain a workforce to reflect the communities we serve and foster a safe and accepting office environment for all identities through dialogue, volunteering opportunities, training, and company policies.
The Merrick Professional Women’s Roundtable
The Merrick Professional Women’s Roundtable (MPWR) brings our employee owners together to provide personal and professional growth opportunities through networking, education, and camaraderie. With a primary drive to inspire and support, MPWR facilitates regular events and volunteering opportunities for our entire company, with topics ranging from career panels to women in leadership to gendered communication and more. Although MPWR focuses on empowering women, the group welcomes employee owners of all genders and backgrounds.
Environmental, Social, Governance
Our Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) committee leads a collaborative effort to report on Merrick’s ESG as it aligns with our culture. A subcommittee focuses on community stewardship in areas of environmental action, community engagement, and STEM outreach. In addition, the ESG committee creates our annual report on Merrick’s ESG, including sustainability efforts, the actions of the other Our Merrick committees, and our employee ownership governance.
The Merrick Way Awards
The Merrick Way Awards (MWA) committee celebrates our employee owners by recognizing those who are living the Merrick values and making a positive impact on others. The committee reviews, polishes, and distributes awards to recognize the outstanding employee owners that make Merrick great.
Celebrating Employee Ownership
Our Celebrating Employee Ownership (CEO) committee plans and coordinates employee ownership celebrations across our Merrick offices during the month of October. As part of this committee, you’ll meet fellow employee owners across our company and expand your coordination and event planning skills as you help us celebrate the employee ownership that is the heart of Merrick.
The Merrick Peer Mentoring Program
The Merrick Peer Mentoring Program provides a mentoring framework to give our employee owners the opportunity and framework to enhance their careers and develop personal skills through mutually beneficial mentoring relationships. The program connects employee owners of all ages, career levels, and backgrounds for monthly peer mentoring sessions. As a mentee, you learn from your peers and develop connections with those of similar career levels or skillsets; as a mentor or career guide, you can share the expertise you’ve developed in your own career path. The program allows you to create meaningful connections with other employee owners throughout Merrick, no matter your business unit or department.
The Merrick Intern Program
Participating in the Merrick Intern Program allows you to help set up future generations of engineers, architects, and technicians for success. The program is designed to provide a solid foundation for our interns’ careers. We expose them to real-world professional experiences; give them the tools to successfully contribute substantially to our projects; and provide challenging growth opportunities. As an intern coordinator, you can pass on your love for STEM professions as you lead our interns through a positive experience at Merrick.
Merrick Education Lunch Talks
Our Merrick Education Lunch (MEL) Talks bring monthly educational presentations on different aspects of our business to our employee owners. MEL Talks span every Merrick business unit and department, from technical concepts like aerospace to business-focused sessions on contracts and risk management or corporate initiatives. All our MEL Talks are created and led by employee owners. As you share your knowledge by leading a MEL Talk, you enhance our business and strengthen the Merrick legacy.
