What Is the Merrick Apprenticeship Program?
Merrick’s apprenticeship program is a full-time, paid opportunity that includes on-the-job training alongside educational instruction to help workers “earn as they learn” in the engineering industry.
We currently offer an engineering CAD Technician apprenticeship through our Colorado Registered Apprenticeship Program. This apprenticeship provides a nationally recognized certification upon completion of the program and full-time employment with Merrick—an outstanding career growth opportunity in engineering and design.
What Will an Apprentice Do?
The Merrick Apprenticeship Program provides an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of engineering, design and drafting. The apprentice will be exposed to various design items, including detailed design, 3D modeling, and drawing creation. Typical design systems may include architectural and interior design and documentation, structural design, HVAC design, process piping and plumbing design, pressure vessels, facilities electrical design and documentation, containment systems, custom equipment, and material handling equipment.
How Do I Apply?
The hiring process for Merrick’s Apprenticeship Program is similar to our hiring process for all staff. Eligible candidates will be pursuing either an Associate’s Degree or Drafting/Design, Graphic Design or Technical College Certification or Equivalent Experience from a high school CAD and engineering program. Candidates interested in becoming an apprentice will apply through Merrick’s online portal.
