Management Changes in Merrick’s Nuclear Services & Technology Team

February 27, 2018 – Merrick & Company is pleased to announce the following leadership changes for the Nuclear Services & Technology (NST) business unit, with personnel located in Greenwood Village, CO, Oak Ridge, TN, and Los Alamos, NM.
As of April 1, 2018, Scott Gustafson, PE, will take on the position of business unit lead for the team, superseding John Buckle who has been with Merrick since 2001. Scott has been with Merrick for 25 years, starting as a mechanical engineer in the firm’s Los Alamos Office. He progressed through his career as a mechanical engineering discipline lead, project manager, Los Alamos office manager, then Federal projects deputy team lead for NST. Scott has served a two-year term on Merrick’s Board of Directors and is currently a vice president at the firm. In his new role, Scott will have overall responsibility for the team’s technical and financial performance.
John Buckle, NST business unit lead since 2004, will move into a specialist consultant role for the firm on a part-time basis effective April 1, 2018. NST has contributed significantly to Merrick’s growth and profitability under his leadership, and senior leadership of Merrick has great confidence that Scott will continue this pattern of growth and profitability.
Valerie Walker will continue in her role as deputy business unit lead and senior project manager. She has been with the firm since 2001 and has consistently managed projects and programs successfully, supporting the growth and profitability of the NST team. Brian Drane will continue as the office manager for the Oak Ridge, TN regional delivery center, and Jennifer Macy, PE will continue as the office manager for the Los Alamos, NM regional delivery center.
On March 19th, 2018, Tony Wampler will join NST as a business development manager. He has been in the nuclear services and technology industry for twelve years, recently as the lead business development professional for a nuclear equipment fabrication and manufacturing company. Tony will join Robert (Bob) Trout, CPSM and Merrick vice president, in the pursuit and capture of business opportunities for team.
