Merrick Opens South Carolina Office In Support of the Savannah River Site
August 21, 2019 – Merrick & Company, a global engineering, architecture, and geospatial solutions firm, has opened an office in Aiken, SC. The new office was formed in response to market demand at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken. The newly formed office will support the nation’s Plutonium Sustainment Program along with other missions directed by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), a semi-autonomous agency within the United States Department of Energy. The new location will allow Merrick to provide regional clients with the highest level of professional services.

Managing the office is Bill Taylor, PE, who offers over 22 years of experience in civil design, mechanical design, and construction/project management. His experience includes surveying, civil/survey site development, and DOT road design. He spent ten years working on the design, fabrication, and testing of process gloveboxes, automated conveyance and mechanical systems, and various automated process systems. He has spent the last several years in project management concentrating on various aspects of construction and installation of process systems and gloveboxes.
“Our Aiken presence will allow our clients in the southeast region of the U.S. easy access to our expertise related to nuclear facilities and specialized equipment design for our countries Strategic Materials Programs which include Plutonium, Uranium, Tritium, and Lithium materials,” said Tony Wampler, Business Development Manager for Merrick’s Nuclear Services & Technology business unit.
With the addition of the Aiken office to the firm’s other regional delivery locations: two in GA, one in NC, and two in TN, Merrick now maintains 22 offices that serve clients in the energy & chemicals, infrastructure, national security, and life sciences markets.
