08.11.20

Timothy Burke has joined Merrick & Company as Director of UK Operations for the firm’s Life Sciences business unit. He will support Merrick’s growing UK-based operations and will assist its UK clients with the program management of large projects, develop transition and operations planning for the Department for Environment, Food, & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and Public Health England (PHE), and coordinate Merrick’s technical and support resources.

“We are thrilled to have Tim Burke join our team in the UK! Tim is an experienced, capable, and resourceful manager and will assist Merrick to solidify and expand our services to DEFRA, PHE, and other clients in the UK and across Europe,” said Brad Andersen, Senior Vice President, Life Sciences.

Burke comes to Merrick following a successful career as Branch Chief for Laboratory Operations in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science & Technology Directorate, where he most recently led the development of operations and transition planning for DHS’s $1.25B state-of-the-art National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF).

Merrick’s history of performing successful projects in the UK dates back to 2010 with work at the Pirbright Institute, providing commissioning and validation for the new Plowright Building. Other clients soon followed, including the UK’s DEFRA, the Animal & Plant Health Agency (APHA), and PHE. Merrick is also currently supporting two global biopharmaceutical companies with significant operations in the UK.
