A One Stop Shop
Merrick performs complete chemical plant design services in-house, including process design; mechanical equipment and piping; instrumentation/controls and electrical; storage and delivery; process equipment selection; machine design; HAZOP review; and hazardous and explosive chemical process systems improvement, upgrades, and replacement.
Executing Cost-Effective, Accelerated Projects
With aging facilities, growing demand for products, and new government mandates, the chemical industries are continuously challenged to execute cost-effective, accelerated projects. To meet these needs, Merrick develops designs that allow for equipment re-use, anticipate future needs, incorporate value engineering, and provide phased implementation and pre-turnaround construction to minimize downtime. Our experience includes projects for a variety of companies in the chemical industry, ranging from ammonia, carbon black, and polyester resins to dry chemical production and from FDA-regulated food-grade additives to dry cleaning products. We have experience working with hundreds of chemical products and materials, including extremely hazardous or explosive materials.
Our multidisciplinary engineering teams work with our clients to perform site selection and optimization, stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP), utility conveyance, transportation engineering, and hardstand requirements for process and industrial facilities.
On the facility side, Merrick can perform projects ranging from packaging and warehousing to machine relocations and from ergonomic modifications to trucking access. With a full range of engineers and architects in-house, Merrick offers our process and industrial clients full services including modification to the building, architectural envelope, structural systems, electrical-process building, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and security systems.
